The Juggle: Running a Business and Raising Two Young Kids

Running a business is no small feat. Add two young children into the mix, and suddenly you're not just juggling tasks — you're juggling lives. Some days feel like a perfectly choreographed routine. Other days, it's chaos in motion.

The Constant Juggle

There’s no such thing as a 9-to-5 when you're both a business owner and a mum. My work doesn’t stop when school/nursery starts, and it certainly doesn’t end at pick-up. It's emails during nap time, calls in the car park, and planning out marketing campaigns while making dinner.

Some nights, I’m up late answering messages or finishing things  that I couldn’t get to during the day because my toddler needed an extra-long cuddles! And most mornings start early — before the sun, before the kids — trying to steal a quiet moment for focus for myself.

The Guilt Is Real

Weekends used to be sacred. Now, they are sometimes busy with pop up stalls. And that brings the guilt. Guilt for missing out on family time, guilt for saying "just five more minutes" one too many times. Guilt for loving my business and loving my children — and constantly feeling like I'm letting one or the other down.

But I remind myself: I’m building something. Not just for me, but for them.

Finding Motivation in the Mess

So what keeps me going?

  • Knowing that I'm creating a life with more flexibility, freedom, and purpose.

  • Knowing that I’m showing my children— that it's okay to dream big and work hard.

  • And most of all, knowing that it's not about doing it all perfectly. It's about showing up, every day, and doing my best.

Some seasons are more business-heavy. Some are more family-focused. And most are a messy, beautiful blend of both.

To all the mums juggling — you're not alone. You're doing better than you think. 💛
